Winner of Cambridge University Press essay prize in association with Political Thought Conference

Moya Lloyd and Chris Brooke, the academic convenors for the Political Thought Conference, January 9-11 2014, St Catherines College Oxford have awarded the prize for the best submitted conference paper by a graduate student from Britain or Ireland, to Maximilian Jaede, St Andrews University, for his paper entitled ‘Why laughing mattered for Hobbes: pity, pusillanimity, and the will to power.’  Maximilian will be presenting his paper at the conference.  For the conference programme please see here:
